○「日インド国際交流シンポジウム2026
～人と人との交流促進を通じた日印パートナーシップの強化～」

概要：
運輸総合研究所は、2026年秋頃に新たな海外拠点として「インド事務所（仮称）」を開設し、インド太平洋地域における日本の重要なパートナーであるインドをはじめ、南アジア地域の官民関係者との人的ネットワークや信頼関係を構築し、質の高い研究調査と連携・協働を行うことを目指しています。国際情勢が不安定さを増している中で、長年にわたり経済成長が顕著で国際社会におけるプレゼンスがますます向上しているインドと日本は、パートナーとして協力・連携を深める必要性が増大しています。両国の広範かつ多層的な人的交流は、両国関係のさらなる発展にとどまらず、相互理解や信頼醸成に繋がり、国際社会の安定に資する重要な要素です。 このような背景から、新事務所の開設に先立ち、人的交流をテーマとするシンポジウムを開催し、今後の広範かつ多層的な国際交流促進のあり方について議論を深めることで、両国間の人的交流の拡大に資するものとし、日印パートナーシップの一層の強化に貢献します。

“India-Japan International Exchange Symposium 2026
– Strengthening the Partnership through the promotion of People-to-People Exchange between Japan and India -”

The Japan Transport and Tourism Research Institute aims at producing useful and usable research results cooperatively by establishing human network of public and private stakeholders and trustable relationship with foreign countries, especially with the South Asian countries including India, one of Japan’s key partners in the Indo-Pacific region. It is in the process of establishing a new overseas branch, “India Office (provisional),” this autumn, because, under the increasingly unstable international circumstances, the need for Japan and India to further deepen the cooperative relationship as a special partner has been increasing, particularly as India has accomplished outstanding economic growth over many years and its presence in the international community is steadily rising.
In this context, the broad and multi-layered people-to-people exchanges between Japan and India are not only essential for further development of the bilateral relations but also play a key role in fostering mutual understanding and trust, thereby contributing to the stability of the international community.
Against this backdrop, prior to the establishment of the new office, a symposium focusing on people-to-people exchanges will be meaningful to deepen discussions on the future direction of promoting broad and multi-layered international exchanges. Through these efforts, the initiative aims to expand the people-to-people exchanges between the two countries and to contribute to further strengthening the Japan-India partnership.
